Carara National Park is the northernmost, intact, Pacific rainforest in Costa Rica. The 4700 protected hectares straddles a transitional area where the northern tropical dry forests meet with the lowland Pacific rainforest. This unique combination is why it is home to nearly 50% of Costa Rica’s bird species, Two-toed Sloths, Armadillo, Agouti, Pacas, Kinkajou, Great Anteater,Tayra, Margay cat, White-tailed Deer, Collared Peccary, Poison-dart Frogs, and of course, monkeys!
